A Hard Working Woman!

I am currently eating cold beef ravioli out of a can, I have a presentation in an hour, I have three essays due this week, and three exams next week. Can't wait for school to end and summer to begin. *sigh*

A Dose of Vitamin D

It's funny what a little bit of nice weather can do to a campus filled with over-tired, over-worked students. In an area used to rainy, bitter, below zero weather, residents are outside: reading, running, hula hooping, kicking a soccer ball around, or lazing on picnic blankets in the deliciously warm rays. This little taste of summer will help us to get through these next torturous two weeks. *SIGH*

I and Love and You

Ok, so I'm very excited for summer to come. In just four weeks, I will be barefoot, eating lots of watermelon, and wearing shorts and tanktops. But, most of all, I am excited for a concert I will be attending.
Recently, I was introduced to the Avett Brothers, and fell in love. Their folk-like music is so happy-go-lucky, yet peaceful so that their sound is addicting-- I find myself humming their songs through my classes and getting ready to them in the mornings.
Anyway, I was looking over their tour dates and locations, and found a concert in my hometown in June. Naturally and without a second thought, I bought a ticket (good idea? I think yes).
Here's a little taste of their hit "I and Love and You."
Enjoy!

Honey, I'm Home!

Have you ever thought about your dream house? How each room will look and feel and smell? What your bedroom/bathroom/kitchen will look like? I received a book for Christmas this past year entitled The Archaeology of Tomorrow by Travis Price which explores new architectural ideas for the modern home. I was enthralled by the potential my dream house could have!

Let's just say that visiting the Walter Gropius house in Lincoln, Massachusetts was a life changing experience.

The temptation to go away to architectural school is immense...

Keep It Simple Stupid

Have you ever thought about how simple life is, but how complicated we seem to make it? I was thinking about the busy day I have planned for tomorrow and how I wish my Fridays could be spent in a more relaxing way. But what we think of as hectic, others may think of as uncomplicated. For me, being in class for an hour, volunteering at a nearby nursing home for three hours, then having practice for three hours constitutes a busy day. But I am reminded of those that cannot afford to go to school, those that are physically unable to play sports, and the residents of the nursing home that look forward to my visit once a week. I am glad that I am not one of those that has to work 12 hours straight in a cubicle at a minimum wage job, or those that have no where to go; no one to see. All in all, life isn't so bad. Even the "busiest" of days cannot be fully unappreciated. Just take each day as it comes.
